The CRAB is DONE!

6 of 9; Almost.... just a wee bit more!

7 of 9; Nearly done!

8 of 9; Washed, Ironed, and Finished! As soon as I got the details on the little guy, I added them in around the outside of the circle.

9 of 9; Finished and framed. When I went to get it framed, I was told that it would take at least 4 weeks to get it back. That just wouldn't do. So, I braved it and framed it myself. Well, Linda at ACMoore's was very, very helpful. She found two mats and I choose this blue one. I decided to go with this oak-like frame to match the new, little guy's house. Michael actually put it all together for me! :)

Well - the CRAB is done and delivered!

DETAILS:

FOR: Delivered to one happy, cute family of four!
WHAT: Birth Announcement, cross stitched
DESIGN: Cancer the CRAB from Los horoscopos; from the magazine "cuadernos: las Labores de Ana" number 30; page 21.
Material: Dove gray aida, 14 count
Threads: DMC plus some blending filament for the stars

Boy it feels good to get a project done! Here's the play by play in photos!

Cancer the CRAB

1 of 9; It all begins! A great neighbor of my has a little one on the way. She's into the symbols of the Zodiac & such. I didn't go looking for a horoscope design - I really prefer to look for very cute, happy designs - especially for kids. But, I stumbled upon a magazine from Spain that patternnuts let me look at & I just loved it all. I've never really seen CUTE Zodiac designs before. So, when I saw this one - I just knew it was the right one! I just had to do a little guesswork as to whether the little guy would actually be a CANCER or not!

2 of 9; I just love this big, cute, huggable star!

3 of 9; Just added the outline for the CRAB!

4 of 9; Here I am at the beach enjoying the beautiful sun of Cape Cod and adding a couple of cute, little stars.

5 of 9; Whoa - that sun took some time!

Day 1 as a Blogger

Okay - I'm going to give this a shot! My goal with this blog is to capture pictures of projects I've finished or am working on. This may take a while -- I've got quite a few Unfinished Objects (UFOs!).
